Serious Packing
We are leaving here tomorrow and are going to see friends this afternoon so we are now in serious packing mode. It was so easy to haul this stuff into the motel room out of the Free Spirit but hauling it back out to the View means finding a place to put it when we get out there. There is no previous knowledge of what goes into what cupboard. I've made lots of plans in my head but trying to implement them means discovering I've allocated one drawer to three different categories of things. That doesn't work.Plus, there's all the installation work to do. For instance, the Free Spirit had hooks for the towels. In the View we have to decide where those hooks should go, wash the area and the back of the hook with rubbing alcohol, wait for that to dry, stick the Command adhesive strip to the hook, wait for it to set, stick the hook to the wall, wait for that to set, THEN we can hang the towel.
Plus, we haven't even bought all the things that need to stick up. We still need a spice rack, paper towel holder, magazine rack, and holder for the glass in the bathroom.
Dave also installed our new tire monitoring system for the View. It is called Pressure Pro and consists of a set of valve caps that go one on each tire which then send signals to a monitor on the dash. The valves take a reading of the tire pressure when installed and with great frequency ever after. Then the monitor sounds a warning if any tire deviates too much from that initial reading. This lessens the chance of having a tire emergency out in the middle of nowhere. You can learn more at http://www.advantagepressurepro.com/
In the meantime, we are hauling out everything that we don't need to stay here one more night to see where it all goes. Then we'll go weigh the View to see how we did. If everything goes according to plan, we'll go buy the piano keyboard and stand Dave has picked out and put them under the sofa bed. If that doesn't fill up that space, we'll go buy a board to sit across that same stand to be my computer desk. Yes, I could use the dinette for computing but it's too high to be comfortable and it would be nice to be comfortable again.
All of that, plus eating breakfast, needs to happen in the next 3-4 hours if we aren't going to keep our friends waiting too long.
And then there's the fact that we haven't actually spent one night in the View yet so we will be hitting the road with a lot of unknowns. Wish us luck.
TTYL,
Linda
