Leaving town
As you've probably guessed by now, we didn't get all the way though yesterday's to do list before we went to visit our friends. So, I got up an hour and a half earlier than usual this morning and took a quick shower while Dave gathered the things we still had in the motel room. Then we stuffed everything in the RV without bothering to put things away and headed out--all the way across to the other side of the freeway for breakfast. When we got back to our hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota, nearly three weeks ago we made a list of the places we wanted to eat while here. The only one left on the list was the Original Pancake House so we headed there only to discover that on Labor Day morning the wait for a table was more than an hour. We couldn't do that so we went back to the RV and ate the last of our cereal. Then we stayed in that parking lot long enough to put away all the things we had stuffed in a short while before and headed out again--all the way across the street to a Marathon gas station.
At the gas station we filled our propane tank and put air in the tires. Pressure Pro had said one was low that morning. We thought having a fully loaded RV for the first time might make a difference in what it needed. So we filled all the tires to the proper pressure and reset the Pressure Pro system to the new level. Then we headed out again.
This time we made it all the way northeast one exit to Guitar World to pick up the piano keyboard Dave had on hold; the scale we used yesterday said we still had capacity available for it. The guy we were working with before wasn't there and the guy on duty in the piano area today was--we'll lets be kind and say he could have had more on the ball. He found the right keyboard, sold us a damper pedal we didn't need because one was included with the keyboard, and delivered a different stand than the one we asked for. We did eventually get all that straightened out so we left there and headed out again.
We went a couple blocks down the street to Linens and Things where we bought a paper towel holder and a holder for the bathroom glass. It's amazing how many little things you need to get when you buy a new RV.
By now it was time for lunch. So we went back to the Original Pancake House and got seated immediately. Yay!
Then we went one exit south to our old neighborhood Walgreens to pick up some surgical gloves for that delicate task known as dumping. I also wanted to get some of my favorite notebooks but they were out of stock--something about school kids cleaning them out.
Then we went south a couple more exits to Home Depot and bought a shelf that can sit on the piano's rack to make a computer table at a more comfortable height for me than the dinette table is.
Then we went north one exit to our store room to swap out things we don't need for things we now do need.
Then we finally headed west on I-94 towards St. Cloud, our destination today. Of course we didn't get to go nonstop to St. Cloud. First we needed to stop at WalMart and buy groceries--remember us eating the last of the cereal earlier? That was still today.
Then we stopped at Camping World to buy more gear but it was after 6 p.m. on a holiday so they were closed.
We finally made it to St Cloud just before sunset. We are now plugged into Pleasureland RV's electricity while we wait for their service department to open tomorrow morning. We were the first to arrive here this evening but we have several neighboring units now though I think they are all empty.
Security has already stopped to check us out so we are set for the night. Once we figure out what that means in this new RV, anyway. We've never actually made the beds and slept in them before.
Plus, the Pressure Pro alarm just went off again and Dave can't decide if we have a low tire or a defective valve since that one didn't go on the way all the others did. He unplugged the monitor so, at least, it won't go off in the middle of the night.
Now, if it would just cool off enough to sleep well.
TTYL,
Linda

And you are sleeping where? Using or not using the overhead bed?
Enjoy your journal …

Sleeping in the parking lot of the dealer who is going to do the work on our RV hooked up to their electricity. Not using the overhead bed.
