Two Steps Forward...
This morning we tried out our regular routine in the new place. I'm pleased to report it went fine right through breakfast. Then we called the dealer in whose lot we were parked (It was raining, OK?) and asked them what time they wanted to fix our monitor. They did not know we were there, did not know we needed a monitor, and did not have time for us. After much discussion, both on the phone and in person, they offered us a service time next Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., saying that's the best they could do. They did, however, find the missing monitor and gave us a remote for the cab radio they failed to give us when we picked up the RV. So, after buying a 30 amp extension cord and an additional fresh water hose in their store we packed up to leave.
Of course, you know how efficient we've been at leaving. We went a mile or so up the road to RJ's American Grill where I had the same wonderful pasta I had there the day we picked up our View. Then we went next door to the gas station to put air in the low tire the Pressure Pro monitor keeps complaining about. That cost seventy-five cents to discover their hose wouldn't connect to our valve. So, we drove across the street and found that station had free air. Remember when all gas stations had free air? Dave filled the tire without putting the Pressure Pro sensor back on since the sensor appears to be the problem.
A call to Pressure Pro resulted in them offering to send us another sensor to replace one they already replaced once. Assuming the next one works, we have three defective ones to return to them. Their service is good but I think they need to work on their quality control.
Then we called the Winnebago factory to see about getting the cab window shades we'd like. Yes, they sell those as aftermarket items but that department closed 15 minutes ago so they can't quote prices or schedule the work.
So, we can't get the monitor replaced here until next Tuesday; we can't talk to Winnebago about having upgrades done there until tomorrow; it must be time to head for Sioux Falls to get our license plates and do other business there.
At 4:15 p.m. we left St Cloud. Most fulltimers are already in their campground for that night by then. We, however, drove three hours to Morton, Minnesota, and are now in the RV park at Jackpot Junction Casino. $15 for full hookups--that's a nice deal. It would have been even cheaper had we been willing to walk through most of the casino to get a Players Card. We'll settle for being all tucked in with the furnace on.
Yep, it's cold here tonight. Quite a change from last night when I wished it would cool off enough to sleep. That's what happens when a front comes through Minnesota. I think I'm going to be happy to have a comforter tonight.
I know I'm happy to be finally living in our new RV. And we are getting closer to being able to go back to the kind of traveling I prefer.
TTYL,
Linda
