Detour on Route 66

Tuesday morning we dumped and filled even though it wasn't really time to do that because we know we won't be able to dump at my Dad's and I'm not sure I want to put their iron-filled water in our tank.

Then we went to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum. This is not a Route 66 site but I can't imagine being in Springfield, Illinois, and not going there. Dad warned me to plan on being there all day. We were there three hours before my body gave up and we didn't see everything. It was well worth the time and money we spent there, though.  I highly recommend it to anyone who is the least bit interested in that portion of our country's history.

Finally, we headed east on Highway 36 to my hometown. We got to Dad's about 5 p.m. and spent the next five hours catching up on family news and sharing memories. I am enjoying this visit.

I only made one note while at the Lincoln museum but I think it is a powerful quote. "The past is the cause of the present and the present will be the cause of the future," Abraham Lincoln. What are you doing in your present and what will that cause in the future?

TTYL,
Linda
